Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (7,063) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution. 

Since the coup, a total of (29,538) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (22,297) are currently in detention, (10,975) of whom are serving sentences. 

These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.

According to the data collected by AAPP, from June 1 to August 13, 2025, (34) people in total; (1) woman and (33) men, were killed after being detained by the junta across the country. These are the numbers that have been verified. Among the deaths, Sagaing Region records the highest number of fatalities, totaling (12).

On August 9, a military column of around 100 junta personnel launched an offensive into Ba Lon Village, Myingyan Township, Mandalay Region. While locals were fleeing in search of safety, Khaing Linn encountered the column, resulting in his capture and subsequent death by decapitation.
