Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (7,035) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.
Since the coup, a total of (29,499) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (22,263) are currently in detention, (10,949) of whom are serving sentences.
These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
According to the data collected by AAPP, from June 1 to August 5, 2025, (27) people in total; (4) women and (23) men, were killed by the junta in Tanintharyi Region, including (3) children under the age of 18. The identities of these victims have been verified. Among them, (13) people were killed by the junta’s artillery strikes, marking the highest cause of death. (5) people were killed by the junta’s gunfire.
On August 2, while launching an offensive in Pala Town, Palaw Township, Tanintharyi Region, junta forces shot and killed four residents from Myae Ni Kone Ward: Aung Oo, Soe Linn, Mae Pyar, and Thi Thi Win. Thi Thi Win had a mental health condition.
