“Within the four and a half years since the junta’s unjust coup, they have committed various war crimes and crimes against humanity, including burning down civilian homes, torturing civilians, arbitrarily sentencing them to prison, and forcibly conscripting youths. Our country has no path to development as long as the junta remains involved in politics, and the situation will only continue to deteriorate. Despite unjustly seizing state power under different names, the junta will never gain the support of the people. Even though they are planning to hold an election, the words of a junta that has been lying to us our entire lives can never be trusted.” Ko Bo Kyi, Joint Secretary of AAPP
