Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (7,006) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.
Since the coup, a total of (29,448) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (22,222) are currently in detention, (10,914) of whom are serving sentences.
These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
According to the data collected by AAPP, from January 1 to July 25, 2025, (481) men in total, were killed by the junta across the country, including (137) men who were killed after being detained by the junta. These are the numbers that have been verified. Among the (481) deceased, Sagaing Region records the highest number of fatalities, with (106) men killed, followed by (100) in Magway Region.
On July 14, a coalition of around 100 personnel from Division 101 of the junta forces, based in Pakokku Township, Magway Region, along with Pyu Saw Htee militiamen, launched an offensive into Myit Chay Town and nearby villages, prompting many locals to flee for safety. When Htay Kaw from Kyee Pin Kone Village, and Win Htay and Soe Min from Ah Nauk Nan Gat Village, briefly returned to their villages, they were captured and killed by junta forces.
