Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (6,980) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution. 

Since the coup, a total of (29,417) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (22,193) are currently in detention, (10,893) of whom are serving sentences. 

These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.

According to the data collected by AAPP, from July 1 to 22, 2025, (19) children under the age of 18 in total, including three who were 1 year old ; (8) girls and (11) boys, were killed by the junta across the country. The identities of these victims have been verified. Among these deaths, Mandalay Region records the highest number of fatalities, totaling (6). (15) people were killed by the junta’s airstrikes marking the highest cause of death. 

On July 19, junta forces conducted an aerial bombing in Main Ma Myo Village, Palaw Township, Tanintharyi Region, while preparations were underway for the Martyrs’ Day ceremony. Thar Tote was killed after his legs were severed by bomb shrapnel.
