Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (6,971) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.
Since the coup, a total of (29,388) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (22,180) are currently in detention, (10,877) of whom are serving sentences.
These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
According to data collected by AAPP, from July 1 to 15, 2025, (57) people in total; (33) women and (24) men, were killed by the junta across the country. The identities of these victims have been verified. Among these deaths, Sagaing Region recorded the highest number of fatalities, totaling (28). (46) people were killed by the junta’s airstrikes marking the highest cause of death. During the stated period, AAPP also received information regarding the death of (40) civilians, as a result of junta attacks, whose identities have yet to be confirmed.
On July 11, junta forces conducted an aerial bombing on Thisawadi Monastery in Lin Ta Lu Village, Sagaing Township, Sagaing Region, where internally displaced persons (IDPs) were sheltering. The attack killed at least 30 people — 13 civilians from Bagan Tu Village, 9 from Kyaw Zay Yar Village, and 8 individuals whose identities are still under investigation — all due to bomb shrapnel. The names of eight civilians have yet to be confirmed.
