Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (6,874) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.
Since the coup, a total of (29,373) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (22,192) are currently in detention, (10,890) of whom are serving sentences.
These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
According to the data collected by AAPP, from July 1 to 8, 2025, (9) people in total; (2) women and (7) men, were killed by the junta across the country, including (2) children under the age of 18. The identities of these victims have been verified. Among these deaths, (8) people were killed by the junta’s airstrikes, marking the highest cause of death. (1) person was killed after being detained by the junta. During the stated period, the AAPP has also received information regarding the death of (13) civilians, as a result of junta attacks, whose identities have yet to be confirmed.
On the evening of July 5, junta forces conducted an aerial bombing on a school in Taw Kyaung Pauk Village, Kyaukkyi Township, Bago Region, where internally displaced persons (IDPs) were sheltering. Six IDPs were killed due to the bomb shrapnel.
