Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (6,291) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.
Since the coup, a total of (28,611) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (21,864) are currently in detention, (10,336) of whom are serving sentences.
These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
According to the data collected by AAPP, from February 1 to 18, 2025, (12) people in total; (6) women and (6) men, were killed by the junta’s artillery strikes across the country, including (2) children under the age of 18. The identities of these victims have been verified. Among them, Shan State records the highest number of fatalities, with (4) people losing their lives.
On February 12, at approximately 5 p.m., junta forces and the Pa’O National Organization, which is subservient to them, launched heavy artillery fire from the western shore of Pekon Township, targeting Taung Poet Kwe Village in Nyaungshwe Township, Shan State. The explosion struck a house in the village, killing Sai Lon and a child named Sai Hlan Hsai, due to artillery shrapnel.
