Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (6,286) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.
Since the coup, a total of (28,574) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (21,829) are currently in detention, (10,329) of whom are serving sentences.
These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
According to the data collected by AAPP, from February 1 to 14, 2025, the junta killed (31) people in total across the country; (11) women and (20) men, including (2) people who were killed after being detained by the junta. These are the numbers that have been verified. Among the deaths, Shan State recorded the highest number of fatalities, totaling (8), and the junta’s airstrikes killed (19) people.
On February 10, 2025, Sann Yii, a detainee at Mandalay (Obo) Prison in Mandalay Region, died in prison after being denied proper medical treatment, despite suffering from hypertension, diabetes, and heart disease. A native of Shan Lay Kyun Village, Amarapura Township, Mandalay Region, she was arrested by junta forces on April 22, 2021, and later charged under Sections 52(a) and 50(j) of the Counter-Terrorism Law. On February 5, 2022, she was sentenced to 22 years in prison.
