Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

Since the February 1, 2021, military coup and the emergence of the Spring Revolution, a total of (3,412) people, including pro-democracy activists and other civilians, have been killed through military crackdowns against the pro-democracy movement.
It is verified today that one detainee in prisons has been sentenced to death in June, 2022. Since the coup, a total of (21,421) people were arrested and among them (17,517) are currently under detention, (5,616) of whom are serving sentences. There are a total of (110) post-coup death row prisoners as of April 19, 2023. (121) people have been sentenced in absentia, of whom (42) have been sentenced to death. This makes a total of (152) people who have been sentenced to death. (3,882) people have already been released.
These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
According to information gathered today, on April 16, at around 3 p.m., junta forces carried out an aerial bombing on Pang Par Village, Mindat Township, Chin State, resulting in the immediate deaths of 4-year-old Har Khui Shin and 70-year-old Har Young. Seven others were injured due to the attack. In the evening later that day, 17-year-old Thang Myu Maung, who was among the injured, died from her injuries.
In addition, on April 12, junta forces raided Ah Lu Lay Village in Kyaikto Township, Mon State, and set three houses on fire. They also seized six motorbikes which were traveling across the area. Moreover, they also abducted a 55-year-old man from Ah Lu Gyi Village along with his motorbike for no apparent reason.
