Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup


Date – 10 September 2025
Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (7,225) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.
Since the coup, a total of (29,656) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (22,388)are currently in detention, (11,066) of whom are serving sentences.
These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
According to the data collected by AAPP, from July 1 to September 10, 2025, the junta killed a total of (56) children under the age of 18 across the country; (27) girls and (29) boys. These are the numbers that have been verified. Among the (56) deceased, (39)children were killed by the junta’s airstrikes, recording the highest cause of death. This was followed by (15) children who were killed by the junta’s artillery strikes.
On September 8, junta forces stationed in Ma Yan Chaung Village, Yebyu Township, Tanintharyi Region, fired heavy weaponry into Rar Hpu Village, despite the absence of armed clashes. The attack instantly killed a 3-year-old girl, named Ngwe Mhone Oo, when her head was struck by artillery shrapnel.
