Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (7,043) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.
Since the coup, a total of (29,515) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (22,276) are currently in detention, (10,960) of whom are serving sentences.
These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
According to the data collected by AAPP, from January 1 to August 7, 2025, (140) people in total; (58) women and (82) men, were killed by the junta in Mandalay Region, including (14) children under the age of 18. The identities of these victims have been verified. Among them, (65) people were killed by the junta’s airstrikes, marking the highest cause of death.
On August 2, at approximately 11 a.m., junta forces conducted an aerial bombing into Than Pin Hla Village, Kan Gyi Village Tract, Natogyi Township, Mandalay Region, with the bomb shrapnel instantly killing a child named Phoe Thingyan.
During the stated period, the junta arrested and still-detained (18) people in relation to the Spring Revolution in Mandalay Region. This includes (6) women and (12) men.
