Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (6,770) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.

Since the coup, a total of (29,218) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (22,081) are currently in detention, (10,738) of whom are serving sentences.

These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
According to the data collected by AAPP, from January 1 to June 3, 2025, (23) people in total; (6) women and (17) men, were killed by the junta in Tanintharyi Region. The identities of these victims have been verified. Among them, (13) people who were killed by the junta’s artillery strikes, recording the highest cause of death.

On June 1, at approximately 3 p.m., junta forces fired heavy weapons at Thit Seik Pin Monastery in Saw Wa Village, Dawei Township, Tanintharyi Region. The explosion hit a Monastery, instantly killing Abbot Eaindawbartha with artillery shrapnel.
