Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (6,624) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.
Since the coup, a total of (29,137) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (22,187) are currently in detention, (10,785) of whom are serving sentences.
These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
Even though the junta has extended the ceasefire period to the end of May 2025, it continues to carry out daily aerial bombings and artillery strikes. As a result, four local residents, including a child, were killed by an artillery attack in Tha Yet Cho Village, Nawnghkio Township, Shan State, on May 8. In a separate but related incident on the same day, the junta conducted two airstrikes on a monastery in Bhamo Township, Kachin State, killing 15 internally displaced persons (IDPs) and injuring over 30 others. Additionally, on May 9, an artillery strike hit a monastery in Hlaing Kwel Village, Kawkareik Township, Kayin State, resulting in the death of a monk.
Moreover, on May 10 alone, more than 20 civilians were killed in airstrikes in Chaung-U and Wetlet Townships in Sagaing Region, Thabeikkyin and Singu Townships in Mandalay Region, and Hpasawng Township in Kayah State.
